The iTClamp Hemorrhage Control Device is for use in the extremities, axilla, inguinal, scalp and neck. The device seals the edges of a wound closed to mitigate further blood loss until the wound can be surgically repaired. Research studies show the iTClamp to be superior to wound packing in terms of patient survival, survival time, and total blood loss. Applied in seconds with minimal pain to the patient, the iTClamp is ideal for emergency medical personnel.
The iTClamp temporarily closes the wound, forming a hematoma that remains contained until the pressure equalizes with the bleeding source. Blood flow then stops, creating a stable clot until the wound can be surgically repaired.
