The Neusite Clear Neutral Needleless Connector is designed with features proven to help prevent catheter-related bloodstream infections (CRBSI). This connector minimizes neutral reflux or fluid displacement with blood reflux into either the IV catheter or the needleless connector increases the risk of occlusion, biofilm formation, and healthcare-associated bloodstream infections. The smooth septum surface has a swabbable top that can be more thoroughly disinfected with a tight seal between the septum and housing to help reduce or eliminate space for contamination to occur and biofilm to develop. This connector also features a straight, non-tortuous fluid path to facilitate adequate flushing and reduce internal surface for biofilm development. No clamping or sequence required, which eliminates multiple clamping sequence procedures for greater efficiency.
